Oh no, I just joined the forum to post the pictures of the background patterns I made with the texture sprayer mentioned in another post.
I saw this and it made me chuckle but usually give the benefit of the doubt ![]() The "My stars are so awesome pictures don't do them justice so I put up nasa shots instead" got me going

My favorite part is the territory he covers - North America and Asia. As if he'd get thru any airport security with his gear. lol

Abbey,
It is not that hard to get through the airport. All he has to do is unroll a big nasa picture and staple it to your ceiling!!! (At first I wrote this as a joke, but we may be on to something!!!!)

Lol Staples?? They took kiddie scissors that were so dull they were laughable and tweezers away from me. Staples have probably been used in more hijackings than tweezers.
But, I think you are on to something. I wonder if he charges mileage. Loser. It was incredibly ballsy of him to come here and try to pass off those pictures as his own, and then try to justify them once he was called out. |

So as a newbie, I have a question that will seem rather obvious to the rest. I am very hopeful that someone is nearby and watching as I am getting ready to go in my sons room and start this project tonight while he is still out of town. I have read all the Westends Toolbox and many other threads and just have not seen this question.
What's the best method for getting the Ultra Green V10 Water-Based Glow in the Dark Paint INTO the syringe? The paint seem so thick that it would be tough to suck up into the syringe, and the paint doesn't seem to pour well enough to just pour into the top. I just want to be sure I eliminate as much waste as possible! Thanks in advance! Rojo |

You should have no trouble with the baby syringes, that can be gotten for free at any pharmacy. I just plop my syringe into the paint container, and SLOWLY suck up just enough paint to complete the small background stars. Have fun!

Yes I agree. Regardless of which type of syringe I'm using I suck the paint up through the nozzle. Just draw slowly to avoid pulling in air. If you do turn the syringe nozzle up and give it some solid taps to get the air to move to the top. Then squeeze the air out and repeat. If you have trouble getting the air out then the best option is to empty the syringe and start again. You'll get the knack of it eventually.
Note that when using the syringe. If you lay it down for several minutes then the paint in the nozzle might dry up. This in turn causes you to push the plunger down until it builds enough force to shoot the blockage out of the syringe along with a trailing shooting star of paint. Your best bet is to keep a pin or something small close by to clear the nozzle if you lay it down for a while. Best regards, Pete.
