Default How many stars?

Merry Christmas everyone.
Recived my kit, like a kid with a new toy I started with gid paint, not the same as the paint I have been using while I was waiting. So I did a one foot square in my bathroom and BAM! to many stars! also not enough random paterns, looks like an alien runway. So I have read every thread on this blog and only one talks about how many stars per meter but that did not help me i use feet, any help on this matter from all you pro's?
Thanks again for all the input about this great hobby and I hope Santa gave you what you wanted>
Tim.
